When I started reading The Ghost of Whispering Willow by Amanda Thrasher I’ll admit I was a tad bored. Then I got to the middle of the book and the story became more interesting. By the end of the book I literally could not put down the story. Amazing!

I am happy I finished this story. If I write any more in this review, I might give spoilers to this fabulous ghost story. Ack!

Here is my best synopsis. There is a group of kids searching a section of woods for ghosts. They have down their investigative skills quite well. They have cameras set out, they take meticulous notes of their observations, and they do computer research. I love the kid who writes down everything he remembers in a journal. What many kids and adults do not realize is that without journals much of our world would never have records of nature findings, science research, or just following the story of two lovers.

These kids are discovering the ghosts of a young boy and his even younger sister, Thrasher enters into the ghostly world where they have feelings, where ghosts set the table, to ghosts fighting. The coolest thing is that these ghosts can touch you.

Thrasher created a story about friendship, love, and jealousy. But it is so much more where kids discover they can work together to help their new friend ghosts get to a safer place. I love the little hidden gems in this story. Have you ever mysteriously missed any linens? Well, Thrasher has an answer for that.

The Ghost of Whispering Willow is an adventure book for YA and older readers.  Margaret Rose might steal your heart. There is one huge reveal at the end that will make your jaw drop. Maybe, just maybe there might be a squeal.
